A Retreat We Had in the Spring

                                                                                                By Cho Jun-hyeong

On May 14th of the last semester, our first graders had a
training session together. It was only a short time since one
semester started, so I was still awkward, but I think everyone
was happy to go to the retreat. I remember the night when
I was excited by packing my bags. I also enjoyed talking
with my friends on the way by bus. Upon arrival, we were
assigned a room, completed various activities, and returned
to our quarters. There was a teacher’s request to go to bed
before 10 o’clock, but we couldn’t(it wasn’t us to) fall asleep.
We spent the night (having talks with friends), (and night)
awakened (all night long) at the retreat, and since then, we
        had (we’ve) had a great time(memory to) help(ing) each
other(our friends) get closer. I enjoyed playing many games
with my friends all night, but I also enjoyed rock climb-
ing too. I have ever climbed a rock cliff (It wasn’t the first
time for me to climb a rock cliff), but it was the first time
to climb a high rock about 15 meters, and the view from 15
meters above left me a greater sense of accomplishment.
Watching my friends cheering each other, I felt the beauty
of friendship and relationships among them. I remember
that I felt so unfortunate on my way home to finish the re-
treat and all the fun activities. Through the retreat, all of the
first graders, including our class, were able to get closer and
had(have) a fun time (school life) through group activities.
Although it was a short training event, I hope it will remain
a pleasant and happy memory in everyone’s memory.
